FAQs

Getting Started / First Visit

Got questions about shopping at The High Bar? We’ve pulled together answers to the things we hear most — from what to bring on your first visit to how our loyalty program and discounts work. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Reach out on our [Contact] page or stop by and ask us in person.

What do I need to bring to shop?

A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID showing you’re 21 or older (driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID). No ID, no entry — Vermont law doesn’t allow us to make exceptions.

No — any adult 21+ with valid ID can shop with us, Vermont resident or not.

Vermont law limits purchases to two ounces of cannabis flower (or the equivalent in other product types) per transaction for adults 21+.

We accept debit cards and cash via our on-site ATM.

Yes! All orders can be made online. You will be notified as soon as your order is filled.

Loyalty & Discounts

How does the loyalty program work?

Every dollar you spend earns you 1 loyalty point. Create a free loyalty profile on your first visit and you’ll automatically start earning — no extra steps needed.

Just let your budtender know at checkout — your available points balance will be applied toward your purchase.

Yes — your points are valid for 12 months from the date you earn them, on a rolling basis, so there’s no single date to worry about. Once your balance reaches 1,000 points, be sure to redeem some before you keep earning more.

No — discounts don’t stack. Only the single highest applicable discount or match is applied to a given product.

Bring valid ID or documentation with you (military ID, medical cannabis card, student ID for the College Student discount, or ID showing you’re 60+) along with an active loyalty profile — our team will verify and apply it at checkout.

What's the difference between your medical and recreational products?

The High Bar is a recreational (adult-use) dispensary — we don’t hold a medical cannabis license, so we don’t carry medical-specific products. That said, we welcome medical cardholders and offer a 15% discount with a valid medical marijuana card and loyalty profile. Our budtenders are knowledgeable about our full product range and happy to help you find something suited to your needs — though for medical guidance specific to your condition, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider.

Our budtenders are happy to walk you through options based on what you’re looking for — relaxation, focus, sleep, and more. Don’t hesitate to ask; there’s no such thing as a silly question.

Yes — all products sold at The High Bar are tested by licensed labs for potency and safety. Each product page carries a link to the product’s individual Certificate of Analysis.

Yes. If you’re new to edibles, we recommend starting low and going slow — begin with a small dose (often 2.5–5mg THC) and wait at least 2 hours before taking more, since edibles take longer to kick in than smoking or vaping. Ask your budtender for a recommendation based on your experience level.

While we do our best to make sure every product leaves the store in perfect condition, we understand issues happen — a vape might be clogged, or a preroll won’t light. If that happens, bring the product back within 7 days of purchase and one of our budtenders will swap it out for a replacement. No receipt needed — we can look up your purchase using your loyalty profile. Since you often can’t tell a product isn’t working until you’ve opened it, that’s completely fine; just please bring back the original packaging along with the product, so we can return it to the cultivator.

Compliance / Practical

Are all your prices tax-included?

Yes — every price you see on our menu is “out-the-door,” meaning sales tax is already included. No surprises at checkout.

If you find the exact same product for less at another licensed Vermont dispensary, we’ll match it — as long as the competitor’s price is current (same-day), isn’t a sale/promotional price, and includes tax the same way ours does, so we’re comparing apples to apples. [See full terms] for further details.

Does the price need to be current?
Yes — the competitor’s price must be current on the same day as your visit. Past prices, expired promotions, or outdated listings don’t qualify.

Are there any exclusions?
The guarantee doesn’t apply to sale, clearance, or promotional pricing, bundle/multi-item discounts, or prices only available through a competitor’s own loyalty program. Since all our prices are already out-the-door (tax included), we only match competitor prices that are also inclusive of tax — pre-tax or advertised “before tax” prices don’t qualify.

No problem — every purchase is tracked in our system, so we can look up your purchase history for you, receipt or not.

No. Unfortunately we don’t hold a Delivery License.

Can I consume cannabis on-site or in the parking lot?

No. Public consumption of cannabis is prohibited under Vermont law, including in parking lots and outside the store. Please wait until you’re at a private residence to consume.

No one under 21 is permitted to enter the premises, per Vermont law — this includes children, even if accompanied by a parent. We recommend leaving pets at home too, for their comfort and safety.

Bring it back to us! While Vermont doesn’t require retailers to take back unused cannabis products, we’re happy to accept unwanted or expired products from customers and dispose of them properly on your behalf — no need to worry about safe disposal at home. Just bring the item to the store and hand it to any budtender.

If you’d prefer to dispose of something at home, the general guidance is to mix the product with something undesirable — like used coffee grounds or kitty litter — seal it in a container, and dispose of it in your household trash. Never flush cannabis products down the toilet or sink, and always keep products (used or unused) out of reach of children and pets.
